Actually, South Park and the surrounding area will probably never be like Fremont or South Lake Union. First and foremost, it is an industrial area. South Park is one of the most heavily concentrated industrial areas in the State and home to international powerhouses like Boeing, Gear Works, PACO to name just three with a major presence in this area with amenities like sidewalks, tree lined streets, single family dwellings, recreation, retail and mixed use real estate all existing side by side. South Park will more likely develop as a hybrid allowing for industrial, commercial and residential to co-exist in a unique neighborhood that accommodates a local work force, healthy retail, nearby higher education and community healthcare. These are all the same quality of life issues that are necessary to allow a community to prosper.
