Conference targets condo owners and community associations

Condominium residents and their counterparts in planned communities are often challenged by homeowners-association issues: how to deal with owners who threaten to sue, how to ensure that enough money is being collected for repairs, how to hire a great manager.
Owners can learn about those topics and more at the annual Community Associations Day on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Bellevue’s Meydenbauer Center.
The daylong event, billed as the state’s largest annual educational conference and trade show for community associations, is sponsored by the Washington State chapter of the Community Associations Institute.
Its goal is to provide governance and other education to those who live in communities run by homeowners associations.
Other conference topics include:
. What buyers should know before purchasing a condo.
. Siding, roofing and deck repairs.
. Conversion trends.
