Buy dirt - they aren’t making any more of it.
Seriously, does anyone think buying real estate - commercial/industrial especially in the Puget Sound area is a bad idea? Please me know why. I just don’t see it. We are expected to welcome an additional 1.7 million people to this area in the next 30 years. THE best article I have ever read about Seattle appears in September issue of Smithsonian Magazine. Truly, you will understand the appeal of this corner of the world after reading it.
There is going to have to be some imaginative financing/seller financing/trades going on for awhile - but it really will be good to get back to old fashioned basics. There are tremendous value now - instead of “pie in the sky” value - real honest to goodness value here in the Northwest.
This whole mess with the financial institutions vaporizing and the trickle-down affect it will have, reminds me of a scene from Dr. Zhivago when Geraldine Chaplin’s character thought of her life of affluence and then how a dozen families were living in their former home and said: “It is much more fair”. Get ready for a lot of “fair”.

SOUTHPARK
South Park lies south of SODO between the Duwamish waterway and Georgetown to the east and east Marginal Way/West Seattle to the west. The Duwamish people were the original inhabitants of the area, using the land to fish, hunt and for agriculture. While Georgetown became industrial, South Park remained mostly agricultural and was home […]

We are still enjoying boom-town in this area compared with the rest of the U.S. Between Redmond to the NorthEast, Bellevue to the East and Seattle in the West, there is a combined 60 million square feet […]
A DO IT YOURSELF GUIDE TO R.E. FAILURE
Here is a do-it-yourself guide to blowing a valuable real estate deal. One of my neighbors in the industrial part of town owns most of a block nearby. I will call him Neighbor#1 (N1 for short). Another neighbor owns a right of way and a large piece right in the middle of the block. […]
